space for people to grow and learn.”
- Marcia Wieder, Founder & CEO
Dream University
"When I learned of Linda’s Yaven’s proprietary approach to creative critique I foresaw how her systemic approach forms the basis for a comprehensive internal diagnostic. The nature of this seminar lends itself to the ‘uber-thinking’ that engenders a competitive edge."
- Blair Enns, President
Enmark Performance
"Your workshop has given me great clues on what to include in my own work. I will be sharing your paper and the '19 Non-Tech Ways to Document'. Many thanks for a great program."

DESIGNFUL Collaborative programs
Here are asset based, positive programs for newly formed or long standing teams to "meet" in fresh ways. Engage in learning as a high form of play.
Designful Communication
More that just learning the right vocabulary, effective communication relies on an understanding of how words structure thought, action and outcomes. Design thinking is a team sport and Designful Communication is an inquiry into learning groups: how teams constitute and sustain themselves through an awareness of their communicative repertoires.
This program constructs a specific new asset based language for business that serves as a foundation for building and repairing trust, strengthening leadership and developing listening, assessing and speaking skills to move constructive action forward. Learn the ethos of equivalency underscoring powerful communication – even within highly competitive environments.
Acquire techniques to create healthy, respectful work environments engendering innovation and improving overall performance and prevailing mood.
Reading Background in Business:
A Visual Thinking Strategies® Inspired Program
See why a third grader and surgeons at The Harvard Medical School engage in an identical learning model of Visual Thinking Strategies® to increase evidence based reasoning and observational skills-sets. Just as a physician "reads" the human body to make a diagnosis, in business we are tasked with "reading" products, services, teams, strategies, shifting environments and social interactions.
In 2004 The Harvard Medical School adapted Visual Thinking Strategies® (a K -12 learning model also transforming user experience in 150 museums) with remarkable results for surgeons, nurses and med students: diagnostic skills markedly improved and team communication was enhanced.
VTS introduces those new to visual thinking to this fascinating world impacting strategic design. It improves communication and team alignment for those already visually versed.
This VTS inspired program for the business community is offered in partnership with Oren Slozberg, Executive Director of Visual Thinking Strategies®.
Designful Assessment:The Studio Critique:
10 Steps for Meaningful Feedback
Standardized assessment by itself lacks inspiration. This program guides you through the 10 steps of the studio critique - a method of assessment relied on by artists and designers for centuries because of the results delivered.
Learn to give and receive effective feedback within real world evaluative contexts of individual and team work, strategies, products and services.
Facts and opinions each have a place in designing outcomes. This integrity based program provides traction to collaboration and strategic action.
Teach Us Something in 7 Minutes:
Rapid Knowledge Transfer
Succinct communication builds trust. Learn to design and deliver a compelling message in a concise manner to a live audience with a minimum use of power point. Participants acquire the skills to streamline their message, “land” it so others can easily grasp the communication and lastly create a call to action – whether inspirational or practical in nature – for an audience.
Use quirkiness to your advantage relaxing into yourself. This interactive program is all about learning as a high form of fun.
Experience the value of velocity moving between script and improvisation.
A TUS7M Participant:
"Working under tight time constraints is not something I like to do. However, the further I travel down this 7 minute path I learn that I can accomplish quite a lot, not matter how little time, energy or resources I have.
Play is a great way to foster a loose and comfortable atmosphere, one that allows and encourages the free exchange of ideas and thoughts. It's a great icebreaker and can initiate instant bonds between individuals who may or may not communicate on a daily basis."
